Welcome to MEFGAA. By creating an account or otherwise using the website at mefgaa.in (the "Portal") you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Eligibility
The Portal is intended for graduates, students, faculty, and well-wishers of the Forest College and Research Institute (FC&RI), Mettupalayam. You must be 18 years or older to register. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is true and that you have legitimate ties to FC&RI.
2. Account & Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
- You agree to notify MEFGAA immediately of any unauthorised access at info@mefgaa.in.
- You may not register on behalf of someone else without their consent.
- One person — one account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or removed.
3. Membership & Payments
- Membership requires payment of the applicable fee (Annual ₹500 or Lifetime ₹10,000 plus a one-time ₹100 registration fee), made through the official SBI Collect channel.
- The Portal automatically activates your membership upon matching your payment to your registered mobile number and name.
- Annual memberships are valid for one year minus one day from the payment date.
- Lifetime memberships (≥ ₹10,000) are valid for fifteen years minus one day.
- Payments are voluntary contributions to a non-profit alumni body and are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. Acceptable Use
While using the Portal, you agree NOT to:
- Post, share, or upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, or infringes any rights of others.
- Use the alumni directory for spam, marketing, recruitment without consent, or any unsolicited contact.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server, or data.
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt operation.
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from the Portal.
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or contributions.
5. Content You Provide
By submitting testimonials, suggestions, contributions, or any content to MEFGAA, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and share that content within the Portal and in association communications, attributing you only with your prior consent.
6. Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Treat fellow alumni with respect and dignity.
- Honour the values of FC&RI and the forestry profession.
- Use MEFGAA platforms and resources only for legitimate alumni-related purposes.
7. Donations & Contributions
- Contributions to SELF (Students Educational Fund), alumni meets, or specific campaigns are voluntary and used as per the published Standard Operating Procedure.
- Receipts can be requested by writing to info@mefgaa.in.
- MEFGAA reserves the right to redirect funds to similar purposes if a campaign is closed early or oversubscribed.
8. Termination
MEFGAA may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice. You may delete your own account at any time by writing to us. Termination does not refund any dues or contributions already paid.
9. Disclaimer
The Portal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we take reasonable steps to maintain availability and security, MEFGAA is not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
10. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, content, and design elements of the Portal are the property of MEFGAA or used with permission. You may not copy, modify, or republish them without written consent.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Portal after changes constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
